Ok. We all have those days, and after yesterday, I see what "they" mean when they say that everything bad always comes in threes.
1. Upon coming home from school on Tuesday night at 8:20, I went downstairs to feed my cat and realized that our basement had flooded. I know WTF! Luckily we have a shelf basement (our house is like a zillion years old and apparently shelf basements were the cool thing to have 100 years ago)... and so nothing really was damaged, but the house now smells like stale water. Anyway, we called a plumber and the estimate to unclog the "main" drain (of course it had to be the "main" drain) is $501.00. Of course it couldn't be an easy fix. I'm going to try some massive drano/ vinegar-baking soda combo first. That will only cost me $20. But I HIGHLY doubt that will work, because as you can see by this post- the only luck I have is BAD luck.
2. Working late. Yesterday I was stuck in court until 6:20 PM- sigh. Gotta love shelter hearings...... Normally this extended stay at work would not bother me, except I had my math class from 5:30-6:50 that I missed. This is my SECOND day of school that I have EVER missed in GOING ON THREE YEARS AT SCHOOL!!!!! And the first class I missed wasn't a mandatory class and so I didn't have to be there. If you guys know anything about me, it is that I am a TOTAL nerd when it comes to school. I cried when I got my one and only A-. I'm a school junkie and so missing my second day of math class is still really upsetting to me. I know, insert joke about me and my nerdiness here______________.
3. So just when I thought things couldn't get worse, I had a bad feeling on the drive to work that my tire was going flat. And at 5:00, my nice co-workers went down to check to see if my tire was all the way flat (since I was stuck in court) and they said that it was low, but I would make it ok to a gas station to put air in it. Well, at 6:25, I exited the underground parking garage, and much to my dismay, my tire was beyond flat. So I pulled into a nearby parking lot and waited for my boyfriend to drive from Sandy to downtown to come rescue me. I also feel that I should mention that the parking lot I was sitting in was the same one that the lady got raped in about 2 months prior.... Luckily Jesten saved the day.. and I was not raped.
Too bad I don't have any money to fix my tire with. Books cost me a FORTUNE this semester. I have to fix my car key (the battery is all funky) and I need to pull the dent out of my driver side fender. I also posted the car on KSL. It's just too much money and I can't afford it anymore. So if you want a 2003 Saab. Let me know. lol. Anyway. That's what is going on in my life. I know, this is a depressing post, so maybe a picture of a tree will cheer you up.

At least RIC will be back next week so we'll have other people's misery to entertain you.
That's how I get through my days.
I am so sorry that your day was so bad... Its always hard enough to have one thing go wrong .. let alone three!! I hope that you can fix the drain, my mom had trouble with hers too in Sugar house, maybe its just something about the cute little old houses. Well I hope that your day was better today and that they continue to get better :D Love love love, Em
